The Olympics

The Olympics are nearly upon us. Stratford, the Olympic site in East London has been transformed and now waits for the athletes and the spectators to come and enjoy.
Billions have been spent by the tax payer to put on the show, the ringmaster is ready and soon we will have the rich the important and a few of the lucky wending their way through the turnstiles.
For some the "turnstile" will only be in a metaphorical sense since they will wizz in from the plush hotels in Knightsbridge in "special" BMW limousines ushered down a "special" lane marked in the road reserved for "special" Olympic people.  What makes these people special, money, and influence. Politicos from all over the world. Not for them the everyday traffic snarl ups that we the tax payer has to endure, they are far to "precious".
The sponsors have decreed that no vehicle can enter the Olympic area with any logo other than the sponsors.  Well before the games are open, "Marks and Spenser" deliveries to Westfield the Shopping Mall adjacent to the sight have had to remove all markings of the shop they represent and do their delivery in unmarked trucks. The only beer sold and allowed on site is Hieneken, no English beers allowed.
The games, as usual are high jacked by the globally powerful who have the reserves to buy their way in. What happened to the buying power of the British taxpayer. we stumped up the bulk of the money to build the stadiums and accommodation for the athletes. Without our money, the sponsorship wouldn't have a bill board to paste their name on but they shout the odds and we bend at the knee.
Even the ticket allocation was an example of cronyism with the public subjected to a lucky draw whilst the great and the good had theirs posted, first class !!
When are we going to break the mould and use our democracy, the power we have to overthrow the established elite and severely modify  the hold that "capitalism" and "world finance" has on us ?
